DESCRIPTION:about the film: HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH\n‘how did some slip of a girly boy from communist east berlin become the internationally ignored song stylist barely standing before you?’ \nyou’ve either seen HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH or you haven’t. and if you haven’t your world is about to change. \nhedwig is an east berlin boy. he moves to kansas to become a rock star but only being coerced into having gender reassignment surgery which leaves them with ‘an angry inch’. \n*(500) DAYS OF SUMMER voice* this is not a love story. this is a story about love. it’s about identity\, fearlessness\, going for your dreams\, finding love\, finding heartbreak\, recovering\, and writing and performing flipping great songs with a badass attitude 🎤🤘🏼🤘🏾🤘🏿 \nthis punk-rock musical\, now 21 years old (she’s an adult now) has travelled beyond the world of cult classic and turned into a vital part of queer education 🏳️‍🌈 \nwe welcome you to embrace your inner eric and otis (SEX EDUCATION) and dress up for the screening… \n \nthe event\nthis screening will be held at the mad squirrel tap in st. albans and is our first film of 2022! it is a belated lgbtq+ history month party but we aim to celebrate and empower the lgbtq+ community all through the year\, not just in february! \nwe are operating a pay-what-you-can basis with a recommended ticket price of £5\, as we try to do with all our screenings. you can read more about our accessibility goals here. \nthe venue has drinks (they brew amazing beer)\, pizza and the setting for this film is a bit more relaxed than you may have seen at previous OHFC screenings. it’s also smaller (capacity 45) so make sure you get your ticket by reserving your ticket below (£1 deposit). you can pay on the door using cash or card 🤑 \nthe film will be shown upstairs\, which is accessible either via the stairs from the main entrance on waxhouse gate\, or on the flat via heritage close. there are also toilets available upstairs. \nthis film is in collaboration with ask for clive\, and we’re very excited for more events with them this year. open house film club spaces are for everyone – we want you to feel safe\, supported and seen here. \nmake sure to come by the pub before the trailers start to get ya drink and food and have a catch up – and no need to rush off after the film! the bar is open till 10pm x \nconfirm ur attendance on fb so ur mum knows you’re running off to kansas to start a punk rock band x \n

DESCRIPTION:tickets at the bottom of the page\n\nLORDS OF DOGTOWN (2005)\ndirector catherine hardwick (THIRTEEN\, TWILIGHT) takes on the tale of the z-boys\, a group of surfer skaters growing up in santa monica in the 70s. the z-boys essentially made skating what we know it to be today\, bringing their surfing-based style to form the foundations of contemporary skateboarding. \nstats: \nwritten by one of the z-boys\, stacy peralta \nstars one true bae heath ledger 💖💖 \nproduced by david fincher (FIGHT CLUB\, SE7EN) \nbased on the acclaimed documentary DOGTOWN AND THE Z-BOYS \nits 106mins so perfect for people with short attention spans\, and will be a chill screening where you can move about. the film will be subtitled. \n  \nskate jam\nafter the film there will be a chance to skate for all those who want to\, and a chance to watch and hang out for those who don’t want to. there will be more info on this coming soon. \nfor those who don’t know\, a skate jam is a chance to meet\, skate and show off some sweet moves  \n  \nobvs skateboarding has had a bit of a renaissance over lockdown and if you didn’t check it out\, somerset house did a sweet mini exhibition on the history of skateboarding in the uk. the event was called no comply: skate\, culture and community and you can find more from google arts and culture here. \n\nabout the event\n\ntickets are pay what you can with a recommended price of £5. if you can pay more\, please do\, if you can’t\, then that’s alright! \nthis event is byob – bring your own booze – and is 16+ (there will be id checks so don’t be sneaking in kiddos) —- please still be respectful with this\, it’s not a phatty night out\, it’s a chill film night! if you’re being a dick and getting too silly it’s not fun for anyone /: \ntickets are available now! \ndoors open at 7pm / film starts at 7.30 / skate jam starts at 9.30 \nbring your friends\, your lovers and anyone you know x \n  \nif you have any qs\, contact us \n  \nthe pioneer club\nst albans has the oldest indoor skatepark in the uk \npretty cool\, huh \nand they have a great space to show films in \nalso pretty cool\, huh \nso we thought we’d put on some pretty cool skate films \nnice \n  \nwe have big dreams for this collab\, but we are starting off fair sized with a chill film night x skate jam \nthis event is for film lovers\, skaters and anyone in between \n  \nfunding for this special skate event\nthank you to everyone who helped us raise over £400 to fund this event! we can’t wait to put it on and make more groovy activities happen in st albans <3 \nthank you and we welcome you to the club x
